"I am the oldest Pullman porter alive" Lee Wesley Gibson, Age 100

Update: 27 June 2011. Turns out that Elder Gidson is the second oldest surviving Pullman Porter. The oldest is 105 year old Ben Isaacs. Read his story here. GI

Quoting from LAT: "At 100, Lee Wesley Gibson is the oldest surviving former Pullman porter. He is one of thousands of African Americans whose lives were transformed by working for Union Pacific Railroad. Gibson was married to his wife, Beatrice, for 76 years until her death in 2004. He has three daughters, six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild."
