The Black Is Back Coalition Rally: Allow Us to Reintroduce Ourselves!

The Black Is Back Coalition Rally: Allow Us to Reintroduce Ourselves!

Hundreds gathered November 7, 2009 in Washington, D.C.’s historic Malcolm X Park to acknowledge the launching of the Black Is Back Coalition.  Increasing frustration with a decades long, and worsening, decline in organized progressive politics prompted the formation of the coalition, this initial public statement and march to theWhite House.  Under the banners of “Social Justice, Peace and Reparations,” “Out of Afghanistan,” “Liberation for Palestine,” and “No More War!” dozens of activists and artists raised their voices and all can be heard in the following four segments which we’ve collected from theUhuru Radio re-broadcast.  Speakers includes Pam Africa, Glen Ford, Head-Roc, Lawrence Hamm, Curtis Gatewood, Omali Yeshitela, Precise Science, Nellie Bailey, and many others.
