Latest update on Anokye's Sword (Animated story about the Ashanti empire)

ANOKYE animation PRODUCTION NEWS

Cannes Film Festival
It's been a busy couple of months and it's set to get busier as we prepare to take the pre-production effort to Cannes film festival in May, where we hope to raise the money to put ANOKYE into production. We are preparing artwork of all the major scenes and drawing up the characters. So if you haven't sent your £50.00 donation and a photo to have a character based on your likeness this is the time to do so. DONATE

A lovely company has donated the use of a yacht for 3 days while we are in Cannes, but we still need to raise the finance to complete the works so if you would like to sponsor us then mail akua@aserendipitous.com for details of our sponsorship packages.

News from the crew
I am so happy to announce that Oladipo Agboluaje has began work writing the script for ANOKYE. Oladipo's first screen play adapted from his play The Estate is in production with Heyman Hoskins and the Uk Film Council. He is also writing a feature film to be produced by Focus Features USA.

Charles Thompson (CEO of Screen Nation. The only awards ceremony for international black film talent) is on board as an Associate Producer. His knowledge and contacts in the industry is invaluable! We also have a new co producer from South Africa. More news on that in the next few weeks.

Poala Brunetti ANOKYE's PA has also just returned from Italy where she had very productive meetings with Lanterna Magica. Italy's première animation company. Makeba Boateng ANOKYE's PR has also returned from Ghana with some good contacts for us to follow up.

ANOKYE in the press
This is a great article about the production and the role social media has played in this film production
There is also a feature article about about the production to appear in Adinkra Films January edition.
We're very excited because we have been approached by Our African Heritage, a magazine from Barbados for an interview. I'll pass on the details when it's published online.
